Who wants to dare the world to save the planet?

Last March 31, 2012, the whole world made their stand against global warming or let’s call it climate change.
I joined in one of the Davao City groups, the biggest group who participated. That’s the group that gathered in SM City South grounds. The activity was hosted by two tv hosts Mr. Marc Nelson, the WWF Ambassador for Philippines, and Ms. Nadia Shami, 2007 Bb. Pilipinas – International.

The theme was driven with the line – Dare the World to Save Our Planet which says I WILL IF YOU WILL. And the campaign encourages everyone to make a pledge that would go beyond the hour. What do you say? Mine is – I WILL DO THE THINGS I CAN TO SAVE OUR PLANET [ON MY OWN WAY] IF I COULD SEE NO MORE GARBAGE SCATTERED EVERYWHERE. I see flood is very common now – the result of clogged sewerage, right?

The event was a success. When the lights were about to be switched off, the rain poured hard but still the dabawenyos stayed. There were fire dancers who showcased their magnificent talents. They were dancing under the rain. It was just amazing because the rain stopped when the mob started dancing before the lights were turned on. God really has His own ways of giving His blessings especially to those who are taking care of His creations.

Have you already made your dare to save our planet? Make your pledge now and do it beyond the hour! It’s never too late… =)

  • Good coverage. Hoping that there will be more activities, more supporters, more concerned persons will participate in the next year Earth Hour activity. More power!

  • Doing something beyond the hour will certainly make this place a better place to live in. With our concerted effort we can make this planet last longer.

  • wow, you had a photo with Marc Nelson! =) I was in Mati during the Earth Hour so I missed the events here in Davao. But Mati had a pretty good rendition of the Earth Hour, too.

I’m currently hosting a giveaway exclusive to Davao residents with organic products as prizes. I hope you could visit http://khakiness.blogspot.com =)

  • Everyone have done their share on this global event. I hope it will continue to the next generation of leaders.
