New Year 2012 [Baganga
Last year, my brother didn’t come home. I spent the whole day of January 1st with my high school classmates. Same with my sister, she was also with her high school classmates – sort of class reunion. We spent the midnight with our family though, to welcome the New Year. Of course, we don’t miss the mass.
This New Year, am glad the family’s complete. And everybody spent the whole day from midnight with the family. There were beautiful fireworks lighted by my dad and my brother. While mom was making noise using her different kinds of coins [her tradition every new year =)] and me, my cousin and my sister lighted huge sparklers.
During the day of January 1, we all went to the beach with a few guests. This is what we usually do. Then at night we had a movie marathon.
The whole family then travelled back to the city. Me and my siblings, to go back to our life in the city for work of course, while my parents on the other hand, want to spend their first few days of the New Year with us in the city.
Even though I have to start the New Year with an absence from work, I am still glad because I have spent time with my family, which I always miss. The day of absence is all worth it when being spent with the whole family – no matter how it is spent.
What’s the best part of going home every New Year aside from spending it with the family? Well, it’s the relaxing ambiance. It’s like I am having a great vacation far far away from the city. It’s enjoying a simple life to be exact.
